Information on the project
Based on IndustryFusion-X, the Dataspace for Industry 4.0, cloud manufacturing is becoming a reality: production factors, capacities and technologies are digitally networked across production. In this way, the entire manufacturing process is linked, managed and operated independently of location. As a result, production factors can also be shared across companies - the aim is to achieve full economic utilization of all machines involved in the manufacturing process.
Main focus
With its clearly structured system architecture, IndustryFusion-X also provides the fundamental basis for cloud computing applications. In this context, the infrastructure services provided (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) must be cloud-agnostic, highly scalable and distributed in order to be able to deliver the necessary compute and storage power in all conceivable cloud scenarios.
A prerequisite for cloud manufacturing applications is the perfect interlocking of multi-layered integration levels: From the cloud infrastructure layer for data storage and processing to the service orchestration layer for process coordination and the edge computing layer for local data processing through to the IoT connectivity layer for store floor integration and a security framework for comprehensive data security.
