Technology Days 2024: First IndustryFusion ready system live in action
The IndustryFusion Foundation celebrates the launch of the new CompetenceCenter South together with MicroStep Europe. Overwhelming response to the new infrastructure and the first Industry 4.0 demo factory for cross-manufacturer networked production
At the Technology Days 2024, MicroStep Europe and the IndustryFusion Foundation presented the new CompetenceCenter South, including the IFF DemoLab, to the public. In the new technology and logistics center, visitors were able to experience solutions from all four cutting technologies, automation systems and bending and deburring machines in action under one roof. In addition, a smart fiber laser was used to demonstrate live the concrete benefits that Industry 4.0 offers for manufacturing. More than 600 guests took the opportunity to see the technological diversity for themselves.
"Today is a very special day for us," said Igor Mikulina, President of the Board of Trustees of the IndustryFusion Foundation and Managing Director of MicroStep Europa GmbH. "With the commissioning of our new technology and logistics center, we are also celebrating the launch of the first Industry 4.0 demo factory. Here, visitors can experience live how they can raise their production to a new level of efficiency with the revolutionary IndustryFusion-X networking solution." The Foundation demonstrated how this works in practice together with its partners Eckelmann, TEKA, IBEDA, Monitor ERP and Sopra Steria.
In addition to numerous technology demonstrations, visitors were able to use the MSE SmartFL laser cutting system to experience live the opportunities offered by the digitalization of production, especially for small and medium-sized companies. The system, which stands for powerful and economical laser cutting, is already ideally equipped for the production of the future. "This smart fiber laser is the first IndustryFusion ready system. This means it meets all Industry 4.0 requirements, which opens up a wide range of benefits for efficient production," explained Fabio Oettl, CEO of the IndustryFusion Foundation at the machine show.
The programme was rounded off by numerous expert presentations, including on the topics of automation and digitalization. Various use cases based on IndustryFusion-X for saving resources and energy were presented by partner companies. In addition, new flexible financing models such as equipment-as-a-service or pay-per-part were presented and it was explained why you can rely on the cloud from IONOS. Following the demonstrations, presentations and exhibition, the new CompetenceCenter was officially opened at a ceremony with a varied program of acrobatic shows and musical entertainment.
